A young Afghan assaulted a girl in Ermou, hitting her in the face. According to the testimonies of people who were at the scene, the man – possibly under the influence of drugs – attacked her, punching her in the carotid artery and in the face, without showing any intention to rob her.
According to sources, the girl was shopping with her friends, following the incident she had a panic attack and fainted. Shopkeepers rushed to help her recover from the shock.
A fireman who saw what had happened hurried to help her. Two police officers from the DIAS unit arrived at the scene and began looking for the perpetrator, who had not moved far from the area. The perpetrator has been residing in Greece since 2016.
He did not resist his arrest, while the police took him to the police station and then to the Psychiatric Hospital in Dafni. It is recalled that this is the second incident of such an attack in Ermou, with the first dating back just two months ago (1/3), when a foreign man stabbed a girl in the back.
