The Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (EEPF), the National Operator of the International “Blue Flag” Program in Greece, has announced the awards for beaches, marinas, and tourist boats.
With 625 awarded beaches, Greece once again ranks 2nd worldwide among 52 countries.
It is noteworthy that Greece shows a consistently upward trend with an increasing number of awarded beaches each year, with awards exceeding 600 once again.
Among the 52 countries participating in the Program, Greece holds 15% of the internationally awarded beaches.
The top region in Greece is Chalkidiki, with 104 flags, and the region of Crete maintains the first place with 146 flags.
The International Committee awarded 4,252 beaches, 733 marinas, and 141 tourist boats worldwide.
