The forensic examination of the body of the man found near the shore in the sea area of Schinias Marathonas was completed at noon on Tuesday.

According to information from protothema.gr, the cause of death could not be determined due to advanced sepsis.

At the same time, as revealed by the examination of the body, the man was dark-skinned while what at first appeared on his leg as a tattoo was finally the mark of the rope in which a weight of about nine kilograms was tied.

A few days ago, an eyewitness who had seen the body floating in the sea of Schinia described to a television station that “it was a corpse which we then pulled out. A diver went when the police and ambulances came. A diver went, pulled it out, a completely deformed body, bloated. It was not a good sight.”

Recall that the body in the sea area of Schinias in Marathon was noticed by a citizen, who alerted the authorities. Immediately mobilised the Coast Guard which rushed to the area.

The body was retrieved by a diver and then taken by an ambulance vehicle of the ambulance and evacuated to the Athens General Hospital “Sotiria”.
