National exams 2024: The subjects in Informatics, Latin and Chemistry – See the answers

More difficult than last year, Latin, without particular pitfalls, the topics in Chemistry and Informatics released to protothema.gr by teachers from Poukamisas tutoring school

The 2024 National Examinations for GEL graduates continue today, Thursday, June 6, with Orientation courses. Candidates were tested in:

– Latin (Humanities Orientation Group), topics
– Chemistry (Positive Studies and Health Studies), topics
– Informatics (Economics and Informatics Studies), topics

Protothema.gr, in collaboration with the Poukamisas tutoring school, presents the initial answers to these courses.

According to Marino Ioannou, the academic head of Chemistry at “Poukamisas” tutoring schools, the topics cover a wide range of exam material and are extensive but without particular pitfalls. Answers to Chemistry

Lefteris Liodakis, the academic manager of Informatics, mentions that the first topic includes theory from new material, the third topic deals with loop functions, and the fourth topic should not trouble the candidates. Answers to Informatics 

Regarding Latin, academic manager Maria Gyrti comments that the questions were more difficult than last year, aimed at well-prepared students, with particularly demanding grammar and syntax questions. Answers to Latin

Evaluations of the June 4th exams:

On June 4, students of GEL were tested in Antiquities, Mathematics, and Biology.

Three teachers provided evaluations on protothema.gr:

Ancient Greek: According to philologist Maria Konsta, the taught text (known) was from Plutarch’s “About Alexander of Fortune and Virtue” and was expected and straightforward. The unknown text from Thucydides’ “Histories” was particularly difficult in terms of translation and semantics.

Mathematics: Mathematician Giannis Kareklas noted that the questions were of graded difficulty but harder than last year. The exams tested basic knowledge of analysis and included challenging questions in subjects C and D, requiring thorough preparation.

Biology: Biology professor Minas Charalambidis commented that the topics emphasized understanding the material without being ambiguous. Well-prepared students should perform well, especially in theory and exercises requiring familiarity with the material.
