Fire in Chios – 112 Alert Sent, Aerial Units Deployed

A fire has broken out in Chios, prompting the activation of the 112 emergency alert system. Aerial firefighting units have also been deployed to combat the blaze

A fire broke out around noon on Friday (7/6) in a forested area in Resta, Chios. Residents received a 112 emergency alert advising, “If you are in the Karyes area of Chios, move to Chora Chios.” To combat the fire, 42 firefighters with 12 vehicles, 2 ground units, 5 aircraft, and 1 helicopter were mobilized. Volunteers and local water services also assisted.
