The most difficult day of the heatwave is today, according to the updated emergency weather bulletin, as in several areas the temperature will exceed 40 degrees Celsius.

A map published by meteo.gr shows the temperatures expected at 3 p.m. with 12 areas “burning” above 40 degrees Celsius.

According to the map, temperatures that will exceed 40 degrees and reach up to 44 degrees Celsius will occur in:

According to the National Weather Service for today Thursday (13-6-2024), temperatures will remain high in both maximum and minimum values. The temperature will drop slightly only in the northwest.

a. In the northern mainland the maximum temperature will reach 36 to 37 degrees and in central Macedonia locally 38 to 39 degrees, while the minimum values will be around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

The temperature will be around 25 to 25 degrees Celsius.
β. In Thessaly, western Sterea and western Peloponnese, the maximum temperature will reach 39 to 41 degrees Celsius with minimum values of 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.

c. In eastern Sterea and eastern Peloponnese the maximum temperature will reach 41 to 43 degrees Celsius, while the minimum values will be around 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.

The temperature will be between 30 and 30 degrees Celsius.
d. 35 to 37 degrees Celsius on the Ionian Islands, the Sporades and the Cyclades, 38 to 40 degrees Celsius on the northern and eastern Aegean islands and 39 to 42 degrees Celsius on Crete and the Dodecanese. The minimum values will be around 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.

e. In Attica the maximum temperatures will reach 41 to 42 degrees Celsius in the interior and possibly 43 degrees Celsius, while in the coastal areas it will be 3 to 5 degrees lower.

Tomorrow Friday (14-6-2024) the temperature will drop significantly in the west, central and northern regions, while a change of weather is expected in central and northern Greece with thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds.

a. In the northern mainland the maximum temperature will reach 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.

The temperature will reach a maximum of 45 degrees Celsius and will reach a maximum of 45 degrees Celsius.
β. In the rest of the mainland the maximum temperature will reach 36 to 38 degrees Celsius, in the interior of Central Greece and the Peloponnese 39 degrees Celsius.

c. In the island country the maximum temperature will reach 34 to 36 degrees Celsius and in the eastern Aegean islands, the Dodecanese and Crete 37 to 39 and possibly 40 degrees Celsius.

It is noted that on Saturday the temperature will temporarily return to normal for the season across the country. At the same time, stronger northerly winds will prevail.
