Hellenic Police: Prohibition on Protest Gathering Tomorrow Outside Athens Conservatoire for the Prespa Agreement

The Hellenic Police announced today that the Athens Police Directorate has decided to prohibit a gathering, which was announced by members of the World Confederation of Pan-Macedonian Associations “Koino of Macedonians,” scheduled for tomorrow, Monday (17/6) at 16:30 outside the Athens Conservatoire.

“Alexis Tsipras Institute” on the prospects of the Greek economy

Tomorrow, the International Conference on “Peace and Sustainable Development,” co-organized by the “Alexis Tsipras Institute” and the “Zoran Zaev Foundation,” will be held at the Athens Conservatoire, marking six years since the Prespa Agreement.

Additionally, the police have prohibited “any related public outdoor assembly from 06:00 on 17-6-2024 until 06:00 on 19-6-2024 in the area bounded by Irodou Attikou Street, Vasilissis Konstantinou Avenue (including the Panathenaic Stadium), and Vasilissis Sofias Avenue.”

The police statement highlights that “this prohibition is imposed due to a serious risk to public safety and a significant threat to the socio-economic life of the specific area, including the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, and the operation of infrastructure and public facilities in the area.”
