A fatal accident in Xanthi - A car collided with a bus

A fatal road accident occurred early Sunday morning (16/06) in Xanthi, just outside the village of Toxotes. The collision was particularly violent, and the police, fire brigade and ambulance were mobilised to the scene.

According to the first information, there are 4 dead and 3 injured from the collision that occurred shortly after 8.00 when a vehicle lost control and “pinned” a passing bus. The vehicle essentially disintegrated and the occupants died instantly, while a second vehicle was allegedly involved in the accident.

How the Fatal Accident Happened

A car collided with a bus shortly after the gas station in Toxotes, heading towards Xanthi, resulting in four people losing their lives and three others being slightly injured. Police forces, firefighters, and EKAV ambulances quickly arrived at the accident scene. After being extricated, the deceased were transported to the Xanthi hospital. According to initial estimates, the car’s driver lost control, causing the vehicle to become literally wedged into the bus. The collision was severe, resulting in the car’s passengers losing their lives instantly.
