A total of 41 agroforestry fires in the last 24 hours in the country

35 were treated immediately, at their initial stage, while firefighters are treating six more

A total of 41 agroforestry fires occurred in the last 24 hours across the country, according to a Fire Department statement. Of these, the Fire Service said, 35 were dealt with immediately, at their initial stage, while firefighters are tackling six more.

The local investigative offices, as well as teams of the Directorate for the Fight against Arson Crimes are investigating the causes of the fires. Finally, the Fire Brigade calls on all citizens to be particularly careful and in case of fire, for their own safety, to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.

According to Fire Department data, the dangerous fires tackled today are in the following areas:

– In Arisvi Lesvos where 2 aircraft operated from the air

– In Monastiraki of the municipality of Alexandroupolis where 2 aircraft and 1 helicopter assisted from the air

– In Nea Zichni of Serres where2 aircraft and 1 helicopter operated from the air
