The Municipality of Athens has taken emergency measures due to the severe weather conditions.
The Municipal Authority, applying the security measures foreseen in alert situations, such as the one in Attica today, announced that:
The National Garden have been closed for safety reasons due to severe weather conditions and will remain closed until the end of their opening hours.
Also, a curfew has been put in place at Lycabettus, with patrols and preparedness by municipal crews.
Furthermore, the municipality has deployed patrols by teams of its staff on a 24-hour basis in all major green spaces (Filopappou, Lycabettus, Turkovounia, Ilisia, etc.).
Water trucks are on standby to assist the work of the Fire Brigade in case of emergency.
The Municipal Police have been put on alert and drones are checking large areas.
