This morning an Englishman aged 44 was found dead at the Chaldari pier in the Old Port this morning.

He was spotted by the crew of a passing boat who informed the port authorities.

According to reports, he is a member of a sailing crew participating in the regatta underway on the island.

According to the same reports, the unfortunate Englishman sustained multiple blows to the head and port authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.

The deceased was transported by tricycle after one of the two ambulances you have highlighted was on incident while the other is broken down. A coroner’s inquest is expected into the exact circumstances of the death.
