Weather: winds leaving, storms coming in the middle of the week on the mainland

Northern winds will gradually ease from today, Monday, with temperatures topping 35 degrees on the mainland, according to ERT meteorologist Panagiotis Giannopoulos.

Wednesday and Thursday the temperature will drop slightly, while local thunderstorms are also forecast in the mainland.

More specifically, today, Monday, generally clear weather is forecast across the country with a few occasional clouds in the afternoon in the central and northern highlands.

Winds will blow in the Ionian Sea gradually westerly up to 4 Beaufort. In the Aegean, north 5 to 6 and occasionally in the southeastern Aegean up to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change significantly. In the northern mainland it will reach 33 to 36 degrees, in the rest of the mainland 36 to 38 degrees and on the islands 30 to 34 degrees

In Attica the weather is generally clear. Winds in the east north up to 5 Beaufort. The temperature from 24 to 36 degrees Celsius. In the east and north the maximum will be 2 to 3 degrees lower.

In Thessaloniki generally clear weather with a few clouds at noon in the surrounding mountains. Winds will be light, the temperature will be between 22 and 35 degrees.

Generally clear weather.
Winds will be in the west variable light and gradually westerly 3 to 4 Beaufort. In the east will blow from the north 3 to 5 Beaufort, in the Aegean 5 to 6 and occasionally in the east locally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change significantly and will reach 34 to 36 degrees Celsius in the Ionian islands and the mainland and 37 to 38 degrees Celsius in some places, while in the Aegean islands 29 to 32 degrees Celsius and 33 to 34 degrees Celsius in some places in the eastern Aegean and southern Crete.

In the west, central and north, thin clouds are forecasted, which will gradually become thicker and from the midday hours there will be local rain and isolated thunderstorms in Epirus, Thessaly and Macedonia. From late afternoon in most areas the weather will improve and only locally in central and eastern Macedonia local showers and thunderstorms will occur until the night hours. In the rest of the country the weather will be generally clear.
Winds in the west will blow from southern directions 3 to 5 Beaufort. In the east will blow from the north 3 to 5 Beaufort and in the southeastern Aegean Sea occasionally locally 6 Beaufort, gradually turning to west with the same intensity.
Meteorological conditions favour the transport of African dust to the west and south.
The temperature will remain at the same level and will reach 37 to 38 degrees Celsius in the mainland in some places, and 30 to 33 degrees Celsius on the islands.

Volatile weather is forecast in the north, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms mainly in the midday and afternoon hours. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather, with a few clouds partly increasing on the mainland at noon and in the afternoon, so in the western mainly mountainous areas, there is a possibility of local rain or rain showers.
Winds will blow from westerly directions from 3 to 5 and gradually in the south, locally up to 6 Beaufort.
Meteorological conditions favour the transport of African dust to the south.
The temperature will drop across the country and will reach 33 to 35 degrees in the south.
