The “x-ray” of the brutal murder of 54-year-old surveyor Panagiotis Stathis in Psychiko is reflected in the police’s transmittal brought to light by protothema.gr.
As the documents show, people from Stathis’ environment said that the surveyor had quarreled in the past with a contractor of Mykonos. In fact, a friendly person of Stathis told the authorities that the 54-year-old believed that this contractor was behind the assault that had taken place against him outside his house in Halandri in 2021.
Noteworthy is the fact that according to what the companion of the man arrested and accused as the natural perpetrator said, a few months before the murder, both she and the arrested man had gone twice to the Mykonos where, among other things, the accused had met the contractor.
The scooter used by the perpetrator of the murder was spotted on the day of the crime and a day before starting from a basement parking lot of an apartment complex in Maroussi.
Specifically, a light-colored car was seen by the cameras at 6:50 a.m. on July 1 entering the parking lot. At 7.04 the scooter was first spotted leaving the parking area. At 8.50am the scooter was recorded turning from Apostolou Pavlou to Epirus. A few minutes later and specifically at 9.03 a black BMW large capacity motorcycle exits the parking area.
On the day of the murder, July 2, and specifically at 7.02, the black BMW is spotted entering the parking lot. After about 12 minutes, and specifically at 7.14am, the scooter is recorded exiting the underground car park. After the killing the scooter returns to the car park at 8.32 and at 9.05 the black BMW exits the car park.
Finally, in the early hours of 3 July, at 00.34, the same light-coloured car that was spotted on 1 July is recorded entering the underground car park. This car left together with the scooter at 00.37.
After investigation and collection of visual evidence it was determined that this motorcycle belongs to the man arrested for the murder. In fact, his companion also told the authorities that on both July 1 and 2, the man left their house early in the morning.
Also, as revealed by the preliminary investigation, one of the apartments in the complex where the parking lot where the scooter was found is occupied by the defendant’s sister, who confirmed to the authorities that she had provided him with a key to a storage room and a remote control for a parking space.
