Four of the 74 organized Panathinaikos fans arrested outside the stadium in Alexandras after a clash involving gunfire are reportedly part of a criminal organization involved in extortion, beatings, explosions, arson, and drug trafficking.

The criminal group was dismantled by the Organized Crime Unit, which made 14 arrests, including four of the fans. The group’s members are implicated in numerous criminal offenses and were allegedly operating in areas of Attica. According to reports, three of the gang members are currently in prison, and police investigations found many weapons, including Kalashnikovs, as well as hundreds of thousands of euros.

As previously reported by protothema.gr, some of the fans arrested outside the stadium last Saturday have extremely serious profiles, having faced charges for rape, involvement in criminal organizations, explosions, drug trafficking, and even acting as enforcers in establishments.

The “war” that has erupted among the ranks of organized fans appears to concern “domination” in the stands. Sources familiar with the matter told protothema.gr that the case is very similar to the murder of police officer Georgios Lygeridis in Renti, as these are fan groups with common characteristics and similar methods of operation.

Although none of the arrested fans have yet spoken to explain the reason for the attack, well-informed sources mentioned that the “civil war” concerns two “groups” of Gate 13 fans. One group is led by two individuals: the first, with a heavy criminal past involving a drug trafficking organization, is of Albanian origin, while the second is a Greek who owns a store in Ampelokipoi.

The second group consists of organized fans from Gkyzi, Holargos, Marousi, and Zografou. These individuals are active in the organized section and have been involved in group incidents across the country and are now in open conflict with the aforementioned group.
