The video illustrates how the U.S. presidential candidate avoided a fatal outcome by turning his head to the right just before Crooks fired, resulting in a wound to his ear.
In the same video, it is shown that if Trump had continued facing the crowd, the bullet would have struck his head, leading to a much more serious, if not fatal, injury.

In his first interview after the assassination attempt, Trump described the moment he was shot, saying, “The most incredible thing was that I happened to turn not just at the right moment, but to the exact right degree.”
Trump explained that he turned his head to read a chart displaying statistics on illegal immigration. “The doctor who examined me at the hospital said he had never seen anything like it and called it a miracle,” Trump added.
The candidate’s advisor, Dan Scavino Jr., explained that what saved Trump was the motion he made with his head to use the Jumbotron, a very large video screen commonly used in large venues like stadiums.
Thank God last nights rally was one in which President Trump wanted to use and reference the jumbotron, causing him to slightly move his head at the moment shots were fired. He is grateful for all of the prayers, love, and support out there, as he prepares for the GOP Convention…
