Demi Georgiou breathed her last early Monday morning. The 39-year-old, did not manage to overcome the severe infection that led her to the Intensive Care Unit of the General State Hospital of Nikaias, where she was intubated. The former MasterChef contestant has passed away.
The 39-year-old suffered septic shock from a severe infection while she was in Paros, where she was working. When she was picked up by the ambulance, she had no level of consciousness and was in a coma.

In particular, as it has been known so far, on Saturday 20 July, she lost consciousness and was taken to the health centre of Paros, where doctors provided her with first aid. Soon, however, it was deemed necessary to be transferred by helicopter to Athens. She remained intubated at the General Hospital of Nice and her condition was considered extremely critical from the beginning.

Nothing foreshadowed this development for Demi (Demetra) Georgiou, as the previous time, she had shared with her online friends on Facebook and Instagram, photos of the dishes she prepared on the island and herself enjoying her stay in Naoussa.
Demi Georgiou was introduced to the TV audience through her participation in MasterChef 2020, where she stood out, both for her cooking skills and for her personal confession, shortly after the game, about the crisis in her marriage with her ex-wife, Alkistis Alexandratou.
