The Hellenic Mathematical Society announced the great success of Greek students who participated in the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), held in Bath, UK, from July 11-22, 2024, with the participation of 108 countries.
The high performances of recent years in international competitions continued this year as well, with all students excelling in a challenging and demanding two-day competition, winning one Gold, two Silver, and three Bronze medals:

Silver Medal: Orestis Lignos, Elliniki Paideia Schools
Silver Medal: Nektarios Raphael Berkutakis, 3rd General High School of Pyrgos
Bronze Medal: Socrates Iliadis, Anavryta Model High School
Bronze Medal: Ioannis Galamatis, Experimental School of the University of Thessaloniki
Bronze Medal: Dionysios Petrakis, Kanithou General High School
The leader of the Greek team was the President of the Hellenic Mathematical Society and Emeritus Professor of the National Technical University of Athens, Anargyros Fellouris, and the deputy leader was Silouanos Brazitikos, Assistant Professor at the University of Crete.
These students were selected, as every year, through the Panhellenic Mathematics Competition organized by the Hellenic Mathematical Society since 1934, in which 12,000 students from all over Greece participated in the first phase.
