George Clooney has announced his support for Kamala Harris in her bid for the Democratic Party leadership and her campaign against Donald Trump in the upcoming November presidential elections, according to his statement to CNN.

The actor and staunch Democratic supporter specifically said, “We are excited to do everything we can to support Kamala Harris in her historic campaign for the top.”

Clooney also praised Joe Biden for his decision to withdraw from the race, noting that Biden demonstrated an essential spirit of leadership.

Earlier this month, Clooney had urged Biden to drop out, writing that the only race Biden cannot win is against time.

In an article for the New York Times, Clooney remarked that it was difficult to say, but the Biden he met recently was not the same as in 2010 or 2020. “He was the man we saw in the debate,” Clooney wrote, referring to Biden’s poor performance in the June showdown against Trump.
