Three agroforestry fires have occurred across the country in the last 24 hours. Of those, the Fire Department says 27 were dealt with immediately, at their initial stage, while firefighters are still dealing with 6 more.
Regarding the 112 sent to the residents of Prodromos Boeotia, Fire Department sources say: “112 readiness in Prodromos Boeotia was sounded as a precautionary measure following a notification of a fire near the settlement. The alert was made to the Corps’ Operations Centre at 15:58 by a citizen working in a business in the area. The complaint was in fact accompanied by a photograph that prima facie showed a dense cloud near the settlement. The fire brigade, as always, was immediately mobilised and arrived at the scene, where it established that there was no incident. The ultimately false alarm that mobilized the state mechanism was due to a dense aerosol phenomenon that simulated dense smoke.”
It is noted that the local investigative bureaus, as well as teams of the Arson Investigation Department (DIA) are investigating the causes of the fires.
Finally, the Fire Brigade calls on all citizens to be particularly careful and in case of fire, for their own safety, to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
