Reactions and scenes suggestive of a ring occurred at yesterday’s Lykovrisi – Pefkis municipality meeting. Two trade unionists created an explosive atmosphere.
During the meeting, one of the unionists attempted to suppress the minutes of the meeting using violence because he disagreed with the decision made. The timely intervention of a councillor prevented the worst, but the incident did not end there.
Another trade unionist attempted to call off the meeting by shouting for the minutes to be “cut, there is no meeting”.
Although the police were there, the incidental meeting did not end in time, on the contrary, it escalated.
It was noted that during the meeting it was decided to hire 14 full-time school cleaners who will be paid through the Ministry of Interior and another 32 through the “55-67” program of the DYPA (formerly OAED) from where they will be paid.
The trade unionists wanted 29 cleaners to be hired and paid directly by the city.
