Moments of terror were experienced by two fishermen in New Hampshire, USA, when they saw the boat they were in being forcefully dropped by a whale.

In a video recorded by other fishermen, the whale can be seen coming out of the water and crashing hard into the boat, sending the two men into the air.

After being hit by the whale, the boat sank while the two fishermen, who were not wearing life jackets, were retrieved by other colleagues without injury.

According to experts, the incident was due to bad luck as the whale happened to be eating at the moment it came out of the water.

They explain that whales come to the surface with their mouths open to grab fish in front of them and close them either just before they come out of the water or immediately afterwards.

“The boat we’re looking at just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time,” experts explained to the New York Post.
