How foreign tourists rate Greece this year – They highlight culture and gastronomy

The data comes from the latest analysis of the Institute of the Hellenic Tourism Business Association (INSEETE)

Newsroom July 25 10:31

Culture and gastronomy score points with the country’s tourists, creating a positive reputation for Greek tourism, with the level of tourist satisfaction in our country remaining higher than other European markets.

Travelers to Greece highly value the human resources, giving an excellent score of around 9.5/ 10 to the country as a whole.

On the other hand, the internet is recording an increase in discussions around high temperatures in June, a now common problem in Mediterranean destinations as, on the one hand, they are linked to fires and, on the other hand, they lead to the closure of important archaeological sites.

The data comes from the latest analysis by the Institute of the Hellenic Tourism Business Association (INSEETE), for the reputation of Greece and each region on social networks and travel websites in the second quarter of 2024, up to June.

INSETE, in the context of monitoring tourism activity through diversified sources, collaborates with TCI Research (now part of MMGY) on the collection of big data for Greece and competitive destinations (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia), allowing the comparison of the overall image of the country and Athens with the competition.

The analysis has evaluated, among others, 109 thousand reviews for attractions and 69 thousand for restaurants/bars in Greece and 4.6 million and 8.8 million respectively for competing destinations.
