Weather Conditions

The first vacation exodus is expected to occur with good weather as we approach the end of July. EMY’s forecast indicates a rise in temperatures again starting Sunday.

Friday Forecast:

The weather will generally be clear. In the afternoon and evening hours, clouds will develop over the mainland, with local showers mainly in the mountains and the Peloponnese, and possibly isolated thunderstorms.

Winds will blow from the north-northwest at 3 to 5 Beaufort, up to 6 in the Aegean and northern Ionian, and locally up to 7 in the southeastern Aegean. Temperatures will remain steady, reaching 34-36°C on the mainland, locally up to 37°C, and 32-35°C on the islands, up to 36°C in the Dodecanese.

Regional Forecast:

Macedonia, Thrace:

• Generally clear, with temporary clouds in the afternoon over the mainland and local showers in the mountains of Thrace.
• Winds: North 3-4 Beaufort, temporarily up to 5 in central Macedonia in the morning.
• Temperature: 20-33°C, locally up to 34°C. Minimum 2-3°C lower in western Macedonia.

Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece, Western Peloponnese:

• Generally clear, with temporary clouds in the afternoon over the mainland, local showers mainly in the mountains, and possibly isolated thunderstorms in southern Peloponnese.
• Winds: West-northwest 3-5 Beaufort, locally 6 in the northern Ionian.
• Temperature: 22-35°C, minimum 3-4°C lower in Epirus.

Eastern Central Greece, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese:

• Generally clear, with temporary clouds in the afternoon, local showers mainly in the mountains, and possibly isolated thunderstorms in southern Peloponnese.
• Winds: North 3-4 Beaufort, temporarily up to 5 in Evia in the morning, variable 3-4 Beaufort in the afternoon.
• Temperature: 20-36°C.

Cyclades, Crete:

• Clear weather.
• Winds: North 4-6 Beaufort.
• Temperature: 24-33°C, up to 34-35°C in Crete.

Eastern Aegean Islands, Dodecanese:

• Generally clear, with temporary local clouds in the north and possible local showers in the eastern Aegean islands until noon.
• Winds: North-northwest 5-6 Beaufort, locally up to 7 in the Dodecanese.
• Temperature: 25-34°C, locally up to 36°C in the Dodecanese.

Thessaly:

• Generally clear, with temporary clouds in the afternoon and possible local showers in the mountains.

Attica:

• Generally clear, with temporary clouds in the afternoon and possible local showers.
