The American dream is being lived by the kitten rescued by a young tourist in Spetses. She spotted the tiny kitten drowning in the sea and without a second thought, dove into the island’s harbor with their clothes on to save it. Talking to ANT1, Coco Goslin said that little Spetzi, as she named her, was lucky in her misfortune as when she finished her holiday she took the tiny kitten with her to the US to find its forever home.

“Suddenly I saw something in the water and I thought it was a fish but I got closer and realized it was a cat. It was like it was writhing around in the water and drowning. I mean it was horrible. I started saying “Oh my God, it’s a cat drowning”. My instinct was telling me we’re running out of time and she was going to die. So I took off my shoes and went to save her,” Coco Gozlin told ANT1.

The young tourist describes how the decision to come back to America by adopting the kitten was a one-way street for her.

“When I went to the vet I was holding her in my arms like this and she wasn’t responding. We didn’t know if she would survive. Suddenly she started crying. It was the moment I felt something and I immediately looked at my friend and said ‘We have a cat now’. Don’t shop, adopt, mostly she will give back to you more than anything else. She’s tiny but she has so much love.”

Through the creation of an Instagram account, the young tourist shared the story of little Spetsy, which has managed to go viral, as in just a few days she already has 29 thousand online friends.
