In her first participation in the Olympic Games, Elina Tzengko achieved her main goal of qualifying for the final

Elina traveled to Paris with a season's best performance of 61.72m, while the qualification mark for the javelin final was set at 62m

Her first attempt was almost as if it didn’t happen, as the measurement showed 52.02m, and the disappointment on her face was evident.

The first smiles appeared when she made her second throw, sending the javelin to 61.09m. This performance temporarily placed her in 11th position, just within the final cutoff…

However, she didn’t need to wait to see what the other athletes would do on their third attempt, as she saved her best for last. With a season-best of 63.22m (1.5m better than her previous best), she secured a spot in the final.
