A 45-year-old man was tragically killed in the early hours of Thursday morning in a traffic accident on the Patras-Pyrgos highway, at the height of the Aegli restaurant.

The 45-year-old G.S. was heading from Pyrgos to Amaliada, driving a BMW Z4, when he lost control of the vehicle outside the Nea Vasiliada institution and a few meters further down he hit two metal electric lighting poles.

From the 600-horsepower car, the 45-year-old’s body was thrown off the car and dismembered in the middle of the road.

The thud of the violent impact caused residents of homes in the area to jump into the street and face the gruesome images.

At the spot, men of the Pyrgos Traffic Police arrived immediately and then an ambulance of the ambulance service and a force of the Pyrgos Fire Service.
