Major changes to both income and solar criteria bring more beneficiaries eligible for the “My Home 2” program.

The economic staff is working on new scenarios that foresee an increase of up to 25% in the existing criteria, in order to include new beneficiaries who were excluded in the first phase of the program.

The program originally targeted the 25 to 39 age group. Based on the latest recommendations, the age criterion is being substantially broadened and will likely include people up to the age of 50.

At the same time, the income criteria for inclusion in the program is also being considered to be broadened. For unmarried people without children, an income of 16,000 euros per year was considered the “basis”. However, it is planned to increase it by 25% to include those with individual income not exceeding 20,000 euros per year. Such a development would mean that private sector employees with a monthly salary of more than €1,140 would no longer be excluded, nor would civil servants with a salary of more than €1,300 per month. The new criterion will also allow employees with a salary of 1,430 euros per month, or civil servants with a salary of 1,666 euros (as they are paid on a 12-month basis) to be included.

A similar effort is also being made to increase the existing income criteria for married beneficiaries with children. By joining the new scheme, based on the expanded criteria, more of them will receive subsidies for cheap or interest-free mortgages.
