Discounts on ferry and airline tickets for substitute teachers

The tickets are in order for them to go to the deployment and pick-up area

Discounts on ferry and airfare will be available to substitute teachers for the 2024-2025 school year in order for them to travel to their placement and commissioning district.

Specifically:

Ship tickets

A joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and Shipping and Island Policy announces discounts of up to 50% on ferry tickets for substitute teachers.

Aegean Sea Lines: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles for the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

ATTICA GROUP: 50% discount for passengers, their private vehicles for the period 3/9/2024-9/9/2024.

Dodecanisos Sea Ways: 50% discount for passengers for the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Fast Ferries: 30% discount for passengers and 20% discount for their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Golden Star Ferries: 30% discount for passengers and 20% discount for their vehicles in the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Goutos Lines (Karthaia Shipping Company): 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Levante Ferries Group: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Minoan Lines: 50% discount for passengers, their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Saos Ferries: 50% discount for passengers, their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Saronic Ferries: 30% discount for passengers until 2/7/2025.

SeaJets: 50% discount for passengers, their vehicles during the period 29/8/2024-6/9/2024.

Skyros Shipping Co.: 50% discount for passengers, their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

Triton Ferries: 50% discount for passengers, their vehicles during the period 3/9/2024-6/9/2024.

In the next few days other companies may be added to the above table, in which case a new update will be issued.

The discount will apply to cover the teachers’ travel expenses from their places of permanent residence to the final island where they undertake service.

The necessary documents to qualify for the discount will be the relevant decision of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, indicating their employment, and their Police Identity Card.

Air tickets from SKY express:

SKY express company, in response to the request of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and in order to facilitate the travel of substitute teachers of Primary and Secondary Education, provides a 30% discount for the issuance of ten (10) air tickets per person.

The procedure for obtaining the said discount is as follows:

Beneficiaries will receive an SMS with a unique code today, Tuesday, September 3.
At https://www.skyexpress.gr/el/newsletter/anaplirotes-ekpaideutikoi-2024 after filling in the necessary details (first name, last name, mail, phone number and the code they received), they will receive the relevant discount code in their e-mail, so that they can enter it during the ticket booking/purchase process.

The Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis warmly thanks the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Christos Stylianides as well as the ferry companies and the airline SKY express for their immediate response to the request of the Ministry of National Defence for the provision of the above facilities and declares: “The initiative is part of the ongoing concern and substantial recognition of the work of our teachers who support and contribute greatly to the educational process.”
