Matt Dillon’s New Thriller Captures the Enigmatic Beauty of Trikeri
In the heart of the lesser-known, yet stunning Trikeri in South Pelion unfolds Matt Dillon’s latest cinematic venture—a Spanish-Colombian production directed by Fernando Trueba, who also co-wrote the script with Rylend Grant.
“Haunted Heart” transports audiences to a picturesque, secluded Greek island where the captivating Alex (Aida Folch) starts working as a waitress at a charming seaside restaurant. She swiftly captures the heart of the charismatic Enrico (Juan Pablo Urrego), yet finds herself drawn to the enigmatic restaurant manager, Max (Matt Dillon)—a solitary American who settled on the island decades ago.
As the seasons change, the sexual tension between Alex and Max intensifies. Amidst the ebb and flow of tourists, Enrico uncovers unsettling details about Max’s dark and mysterious past. Blinded by love, Alex chooses to overlook the signs, and the story gradually spirals into a chilling fight for survival.
Trikeri, perched on the tip of the Magnesia Peninsula, is a preserved village with an aura of timelessness, thanks to its isolation until the 1980s when it was accessible only by sea. Nestled atop the Fortounas hill, the village is serviced by the port of Agia Kyriaki, which also served as a filming location.
