The Hellenic Medicines Agency (EOF) issued a statement on the proper use of hand disinfectants, emphasising that they cannot replace hand washing.

EOF highlights that biocidal products, specifically those intended for hand disinfection, should never replace hand washing and should not be preferred over it.

They strongly recommend using hand disinfectants only when there is no access to clean water and soap. They also emphasize that the use of disinfectants by young children should be done under adult supervision and after proper training.
