A shepherd discovered a human skeleton on Wednesday morning, believed to belong to a Bulgarian man who went missing from Ierapetra in November 2012. The skeleton was found in the remote area of Pano Karkas, near the village of Anatoli in Lasithi.
Alongside the clothing, a police ID card was found, belonging to a 57-year-old Bulgarian man who was reported missing on November 15, 2012, to the local authorities.
The area is extremely rugged, and it is unclear how the 57-year-old if identified as such, ended up there.
According to reports, the missing man had been dealing with various health issues and had taken a Bible with him when he left his home.
