A 30-year-old tourist from Padova has died in Naples after being struck by a statue that fell from a balcony.
The woman was walking on Sunday in the Quartieri Spagnoli area, one of the most popular in Naples, when a statue that fell from a balcony hit her in the head. She was taken to hospital, where she breathed her last, according to the Italian news agency Ansa.

At the same time, prosecutors have placed under investigation the parents of two children suspected of throwing the statue from the balcony of their home, which hit Chiara Jaconis in the head. Meanwhile, police on Wednesday reviewed a video showing the incident in which one of the children allegedly threw the statue off the balcony, investigative sources said.
