Notably, just hours later, Bardem was honored with the festival’s top award for 2023, in recognition of his contributions to cinema.
The new film by Sorogoyen is titled El ser querido (The Beloved), with a screenplay co-written by his longtime collaborator Isabel Peña.
The cast also includes Vicky Luengo, known for her role in the TV series Riot Police, and she is also appearing in Pedro Almodóvar’s new film The Room Next Door.
