Spain: Bull Race Incident – Breaks Barricade Leaving One Dead and Three Injured

Among the injured was a three-year-old girl

Newsroom September 26 07:42

An outdoor bull ride in the town of Padua, Spain, had a dramatic ending when a bull broke through a makeshift barricade and struck spectators with its horns, killing one and injuring three.

According to Spanish media, the dead man is an 80-year-old man while the injured include a girl of just three years old who was found at the bullring with her grandparents.

The bloody incident was recorded by eyewitnesses, with the bull seen knocking down an iron gate that had been placed as a roadblock.

This bull was forced to run at a festival in Pantoja, Spain. He broke free, killing one and injuring three.

The 3-year-old girl was reportedly hit in the face and is being treated in hospital. Her grandparents, who were hit by the bull’s horns but their lives are not in danger, remain in the same hospital.

The bull ride was held as part of the celebrations for Santa Barbara, which is celebrated from September 20 to 28 in Padua.

The tragic incident was the third to occur in the greater Toledo area in the last two months with activists reiterating their call for a ban on the custom.
