Israeli officials have also proposed targeted assassinations or disabling Iran’s air defense systems. If the option to target oil facilities is chosen, the attack will be carried out by Israeli fighter jets. If assassinations are preferred, it may follow the model used in the killing of Haniyeh in Tehran two months ago.
A senior Israeli official stated that while a military response has been decided upon during Israel’s war council meeting following the Iranian attack, the exact nature of the response is still under consideration. The Israeli side intends to consult with the Biden administration, seeking coordination with Washington due to the strategic significance of any action against Iran.

In response, Iran has warned it will strike all of Israel’s infrastructure if attacked. Iranian forces fired 200 missiles, including hypersonic ones, in their recent assault. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed that 90% of their missiles hit their targets, while Israeli forces reported successfully intercepting the majority of them.
The U.S. has fully backed Israel and is in discussions with the Israeli government regarding possible retaliatory actions. President Joe Biden warned Iran of the consequences of its attack and emphasized that consultations with Israel are ongoing.
As tensions escalate, both sides prepare for further actions, while the region remains in a highly volatile state.
