A boat with dozens of migrants was discovered on the island of Gavdos today, Friday, October 4th, at the “Potamos” beach.

According to Cretapost.gr, authorities were immediately alerted after the migrants were spotted, and efforts to gather them began right away.

The migrants were assembled at the port of Karave, where they were counted. Plans are in place for their transfer by ferry to Sfakia and then onward by bus to Chania, where they will be temporarily housed.

Authorities are currently conducting investigations to locate and arrest the traffickers responsible for their transport.
