For the first time ever, the President of Israel was interviewed by Al-Arabiya. Isaac Herzog gave a television interview today to the Arabic network Saudi Al-Arabiya regarding developments in Lebanon and the tension with Iran.

The Israeli President after reiterating the firm position that Israel has every right to self-defense stressed that his country’s target has never been civilians and stressed that all efforts are being made to ensure that military operations exclude such casualties.

Asked regarding what Israel is expected to do with Iran, Herzog called for a common front and rallying of the citizens of Iran and Lebanon and partnership with Israel. In detail the President of Israel said: “I want to address the people of Lebanon and the people of Iran: wake up! If we stand united in the face of evil, we can hope for a better future.”

“I was disappointed by this comment by President Macron.”

The move on the part of the President of Israel is clearly approved by the Government of Israel and supported by Washington, as it has become clear since late last week that the US has already submitted a plan for the next day in Lebanon, giving the local government with Hezbollah weak and busy in the fields the option to “fill” the President’s seat that has been vacant for two years and lead the people to the polls.
