According to Sky News, an additional $4.86 billion has been allocated to support U.S. military operations in the region following the October 7, 2023, attacks, according to a report on the “Cost of War” by Brown University.

This expenditure includes, among other things, a U.S. Navy-led campaign to suppress attacks on commercial shipping by Yemen’s Houthis, who claim they are acting in solidarity with Hamas.

The Biden administration has strengthened its military presence in the region since the conflict erupted, aiming to deter and respond to potential attacks on Israeli and U.S. forces.
