Professors John Hopfield and Jeffrey Hinton have been awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced Tuesday afternoon.
John Hopfield is a professor at the University of Princeton and Jeffrey Hinton at the University of Toronto.
They were awarded for fundamental discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.
