Fotis Sergoulopoulos marries his partner

The intimate ceremony took place at Athens City Hall, officiated by Haris Doukas

Newsroom October 18 11:43

Fotis Sergoulopoulos tied the knot with his partner on the afternoon of Thursday, April 17, in an intimate ceremony at Athens City Hall.

The TV host and his partner took the next step in their relationship, with Haris Doukas officiating the ceremony.

The joyful news was shared on the show Buongiorno on Mega, where Haris Doukas made a statement about the wedding. Specifically, he mentioned that it was Sergoulopoulos’ personal choice to have him officiate the ceremony.

“It was wonderful. We are friends. It was Fotis Sergoulopoulos’ personal choice for me to marry them,” said Haris Doukas about the couple’s wedding.

The couple has been together for years and has always kept their personal life away from the media spotlight. Therefore, they chose to have their wedding in a small circle, with only a few close family members and friends attending.

“They’ve been together for years. Jenny Diagoupi was a witness at the wedding. They wanted to keep it private, without any media presence,” revealed Faye Skorda.

What Fotis Sergoulopoulos Has Said About Marriage

Recently, the TV host spoke in an interview on the show Better Late about the significance marriage holds in his life.

He specifically stated, “A marriage that comes after a long-term relationship is a family agreement that can keep you together. When that agreement doesn’t exist, you might not be able to handle things in the end, and you could leave or be left. You won’t fight for it as much, or you’ll fight until you feel suffocated and leave. Maybe that’s why such relationships can easily fall apart. After mature thought, you might become good friends, which doesn’t usually happen in a divorce. It has its good and bad sides. In same-sex relationships, not having a formal contract or social acceptance acts as a contract of honesty. I might sound conservative right now, but I’m not. I just have principles. My core principle is trust and respect. Respecting the other person in front of me.”
