Russia will under no circumstances allow Ukraine to build nuclear weapons, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, adding that his country is interested in putting an end to the war as soon as possible.
“I can say that Russia will not allow the creation of nuclear weapons in Ukraine under any circumstances,” Putin said at the meeting with top media chiefs from BRICS member countries.
At the same time, he said that his country is ready to immediately start a dialogue on ending the war in Ukraine, based on the document prepared in Constantinople in 2022. According to Putin, there are initiatives from China and Brazil on this issue.
“Russia is following this very closely and understands that the BRICS members want to end the conflict as soon as possible,” Putin added.
