The referral to the disciplinary body was announced on social media by Sofia Intziadou, a member of SYRIZA’s Central Committee. She stated:

“Following extreme statements heard recently, a group of Central Committee comrades, specifically twelve individuals, wanting to express our dissatisfaction and protest, made use of the appropriate party bodies. This morning, we referred Mr. Gerovasili, Mr. Zachariadis, and Mr. Gletsos to the Ethics Committee to address the aforementioned incidents and take appropriate action as outlined in the party’s statutes, imposing, if deemed necessary, the required disciplinary sanctions.

We inform you that three separate files have been submitted, one for each individual, including electronic records such as video material.”
