The Panathinaikos family is in mourning of the loss of the team’s player, George Baldock.
The match against Chelsea at the Olympic Stadium in Athens for the second matchday of the League Phase of the Conference League is the first home game for the Trifylli following this tragic event, and the team’s supporters understandably wanted to pay tribute to the 31-year-old international back.
In the section opposite the organized fans of Panathinaikos, a banner was hung that reads “George Baldock Αθάνατος” (George Baldock Immortal) and another that wrote, “Rest Peacefully.”
Approximately 25 minutes before the start of the major match, 32 children emerged onto the field holding large green flags with the number “32” in honor of George Baldock, who wore that number during his time with the “green clover.”
