The student from the school complex of the Agia Sophia area in Patra is in a serious condition in intensive care, as she was found to be infected with meningococcus.

The student fainted yesterday while at school and was taken by ambulance to hospital.

According to ERT, the tests done came back positive for meningococcus and an order was immediately given to not open the school complex today and to follow protocol.

As planned in these cases, crews will proceed to decontaminate the area while detection of her contacts is underway.
