Amid a heated pre-conference climate, tensions run high within SYRIZA as the party approaches its delegate elections. These delegates will have the task of ratifying decisions made by the Political Secretariat and the Central Committee at the party’s upcoming conference.
Close associates of Stefanos Kasselakis allege that certain factions are attempting to portray themselves as the majority to sway the atmosphere and discourage member participation. Kasselakis’s circles note, “It’s striking how pro-government outlets are embracing so-called insider information provided by groups trying to claim the majority in the lead-up to SYRIZA’s conference—especially with four days still to go before delegate elections.”
They continue, “We wonder if these are mere wishful thoughts or if there’s an active attempt to suppress member voices. After all, no one can predict the outcome before the elections are held. Perhaps these groups could clarify which of their claims holds true.”
