A hearing on UFOs was held on Wednesday (11/13) in Congress, with American lawmakers continuing to seriously consider the possibility that not only unexplained objects are violating U.S. airspace, but also that the military has spent decades secretly recovering extraterrestrial crafts to enhance its own technology.
The House Oversight Committee hearing was titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth.” The title refers to UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena), the new preferred acronym for UFOs, a term increasingly popular for describing mysterious airborne objects among those who support related theories and also used by American officials.
Hearing on UFOs in the U.S. Congress: A video showing a white sphere emerging from the ocean was examined.
The Republican Representatives Nancy Mace and Glenn Grothman argued that American citizens are disappointed with the lack of transparency from the U.S. government on the matter of UFOs. Luis Elizondo, a decorated former counterintelligence officer, who has for years claimed that the American government hides knowledge of UAPs, was a key witness at the hearing.
On Wednesday, a new list of witnesses provided new testimony on these very concerns during a joint hearing by House Oversight subcommittees. The hearing, which lasted over two hours, was the second in Congress on the topic of UFOs following another session held in July 2023.
During the hearing, a video was examined showing a “white sphere” emerging from the ocean off the coast of Kuwait. The Pentagon issued a report in March stating it found no evidence of extraterrestrial spacecraft.
Journalist Michael Shellenberger, providing evidence to the House Representatives, stated that he was informed about the footage by a source in recent weeks. The founder of the news service “Public” noted that the 13-minute high-definition color video shows the “sphere” 20 miles off the coast of Kuwait and was shot from a helicopter.
“Later, halfway through the video,” the source said, “the sphere is joined by another sphere that briefly enters the frame from the left before quickly exiting the frame again.”
He mentioned that the source discovered the video on SIPR, the secure internet protocol router network used by the Department of Defense “for transmitting classified information.”
Nancy Mace, who co-chaired the hearing, examined a 12-page document allegedly detailing a classified UAP crash recovery program known as Immaculate Constellation.
The report was submitted to Congress by Shellenberger, who stated during the hearing that a whistleblower, who is a current or former official of the American government, wrote the report, which claims that “the executive branch has been managing UAP issues without knowledge, oversight, or authorization from Congress for quite some time, possibly decades.”
The House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation was informed that objects, including those observed performing maneuvers at speeds greater than 3,000 Gs, have been detected over U.S. military and energy facilities.
Representatives were told that the objects can travel faster underwater than American submarines and withstand immense force.
“We Are Not Alone in the Universe”
Luis Elizondo, a former Department of Defense official, was asked whether these objects could be controlled via a “mind-body connection,” to which he responded that they are clearly “intelligently controlled.”
“The vehicles we’re talking about… are performing at over 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 Gs,” he said, adding that they respond to human movements and are incredibly agile.
“We are talking about technologies that exceed anything in our [military] inventory,” he said.
Last year, the House Oversight Committee also examined UFOs, with at least one witness claiming that the Pentagon covered up something, which the department denied.
In November 2023, NASA announced it would take “specific action” to investigate the potential threat of UFOs following the release of a landmark report on the phenomenon.
The 33-page report found that NASA should play a greater role in detecting such phenomena.
