The 19-year-old suspect, accused of fatally injuring a 5-year-old boy in Markopoulo, was remanded in custody today after his testimony at the courts of the former Evelpidon military academy.
The incident occurred when the car carrying the child and his parents came under gunfire for unknown reasons.
During his testimony to the examining magistrate, the accused reportedly admitted to shooting at the car that had stopped next to his, but he claimed that the child’s death was not caused by his shot.
It is noted that the child was initially taken by relatives to the Markopoulo Health Center.
From there, an ambulance transported him to the Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital without a pulse. Despite the doctors’ attempts to revive him using CPR, they were unsuccessful.
