“The goal is for Greece to have lower taxes by the end of the 4-year term,” said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his opening statement at the cabinet meeting.
“This budget addresses inflation in two ways,” the Prime Minister explained, emphasizing both the reduction of prices and the increase in citizens’ incomes.
“We know well that products remain more expensive, which is why I insist that boosting income is the only way forward. For this reason, the budget has a horizon until 2027,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated.

The agenda for the Cabinet meeting includes:
- Presentation by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis and Deputy Minister Thanos Petralias: a) the state budget for 2025, b) Approval of the 2023 financial statements, balance sheet, and other financial statements.
- Presentation by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras of the bill for the organizational reform of the railway sector.
- Presentation by the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zacharakis and Deputy Minister Katerina Papakosta of the bill for implementing Directive 2022/2381 on improving gender-balanced representation in executive positions in listed companies and gender-balanced representation on boards of directors.
- Presentation by the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Christos Stylianides of legislative initiatives: a) Upgrade and organization of supervision and control of the Greek Coast Guard System, b) Functional upgrade of the Ministry’s structures.
- Presentation by the Minister of Environment and Energy Theodoros Skylakakis and the Minister of Rural Development and Food Kostas Tsiaras of draft bills from their respective ministries.
