The Israeli Prime Minister announced a ceasefire plan tonight, though he did not specify how long the truce period would last. In a speech, Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon, which most international media had been expecting in recent hours. “That’s why tonight I will present to the Cabinet a plan for a ceasefire in Lebanon,” he said.
After his meeting with the security council, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed pride in the “resilience” shown by the Israelis living in the north.
Touching on the sensitive issue of captives, he emphasized that his government is committed to returning the remaining hostages from Gaza.
Netanyahu also stated that his country is determined to “complete the destruction of Hamas.”
Earlier, the Israeli Security Council approved the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
