“When you step back, you get a clearer and more complete picture, and when you return, you come back perhaps a little more fulfilled,” the singer described.
Upon his return from the United States, Nikos Vertis spoke about his new song, his relationship with social media, and the possibility of taking a break from music.
The well-known singer made statements to the camera of the show “Buongiorno,” which met him at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport on Tuesday morning, November 26.
He specifically mentioned: “I think about it often, yes. I am close to taking a break. It will happen. It is needed because when you step back, you get a clearer and more complete picture, and when you return, you come back perhaps a little more fulfilled.”
At another point, Nikos Vertis spoke about the tour he held in America. “All the concerts went really well, it was probably the best production I’ve ever had in America. There were many foreigners. I can say that more than 60% of the people who attended the concerts were foreigners. Nia Vardalos came to the concert. She is an amazing person who came with a great attitude.”
Regarding his new song, he commented: “It’s a stylish zeibekiko with lyrics by Olga Vlachopoulou. I believe such songs can still be played on the radio today.”
He also mentioned that it was Vasilis Karas who encouraged him to hold a concert in his hometown, Kavala. “Two years before he passed away, he kept telling me, ‘Kid, you have to do a concert in our village, in our homeland.'”
When the journalist asked him if he would participate in the concert at OAKA next summer in honor of Vasilis Karas, he responded: “Since we spoke, I will logically participate if there is no other commitment, because there was another concert on a specific date.”

The singer also spoke about his relationship with social media. “I’m not very active. I have a phobia – my personal opinion – that an artist cannot follow this trend because it puts them in competition with others who do it much better than us. However, I do watch what others post and find it quite funny.”
